Hi, I’m Ikaros 👋
I’m a Greek and English language teacher and the person behind iGreekly.
My goal is to help you feel comfortable using Greek — whether you’re ordering your first coffee, getting to know your neighbours, or having a conversation you once thought was beyond your level.
I want learning Greek to feel clear, personal, and connected to your life.

About Ikaros
My Background
I’ve been teaching Greek and English since 2018, working with children and adults through private lessons, small groups, and online platforms such as Preply.
I graduated with honours from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens in 2021, with a degree in English and Greek Language and Literature.
Over the years, I’ve worked with learners of different ages, backgrounds, and goals. My experience includes helping students develop everyday communication skills and preparing them for English language qualifications such as IELTS, TOEFL, and Cambridge exams.
That range of experience has shaped how I approach teaching: start by understanding the person, then build the lessons around what they need.
Some learners enjoy exploring how a language works. Others want to start a conversation without second-guessing every word. Many need a little of both.

My Teaching Approach
In our lessons, we work on understanding Greek and using it yourself.
That means practising listening, speaking, reading, and writing, with clear explanations and time to revisit what you’ve learned.

Why I Created iGreekly
I created iGreekly to bring together personal teaching and thoughtfully designed learning materials.
Through online lessons, I can work with you wherever you live and focus on your particular goals. The materials I create support that work, giving you ways to practise between lessons and return to useful language over time.
You might be learning Greek because you’re moving to Greece, have Greek family, visit regularly, or simply love the language.
Your reason gives our lessons a starting point.
A Little More About Me
Outside teaching, I sing, play guitar, and release music under the name IKAROS. I also love travelling and discovering places through the people who live there.
These interests often find their way into my teaching. A song, a story, or a conversation about somewhere you love can make language feel more memorable and personal.
